On Wednesday 15 October, we held a webinar to highlight and discuss our recently launched Regulatory Practice Essentials – Quick Guides – useful guides for people who work in regulatory environments.
Over 165 people from across central and local government regulatory agencies joined in to hear about the Ministry, what’s in the Quick Guides, how we are working to enhance regulatory system capability, and regulation more broadly.
Our Chief Executive and Secretary for Regulation, Gráinne Moss, our manager Regulatory System Capability Lisa Docherty, and guests Vanessa Horne from the Commerce Commission, and Steve Watson from MBIE facilitated the lively panel.

Our Regulatory System Capability team worked with more than 60 subject matter experts from across a dozen regulatory agencies to develop the Quick Guides. We are already getting feedback on how useful they are.
In November, as part of our ongoing commitment to increasing regulatory capability across the system, we will be releasing several interactive modules to support the Quick Guides. We are looking forward to producing more Quick Guides in 2025.
