RegRoom

RegRoom is our online hub for people who help develop or administer government regulation in New Zealand. It is designed to help people in regulation connect, share insights, and build regulatory capability.

RegRoom houses our Regulatory Practice Essentials modules and will soon host online communities of practice for regulators and people in regulation.

To join RegRoom click the sign up button below and follow these steps: 

1. Create a new account using your agency login details (email and password).
2. Complete the multifactor authentication process. Note you will need to have your phone with the authenticator app on hand to complete this process.
3. Read and accept the privacy statement.
4. Enter RegRoom.

Online learning modules

RegRoom offers free online learning modules covering the fundamentals of regulatory practice in New Zealand.

The modules walk you through real-life regulatory scenarios and offer practical tips you can apply in your day-to-day work. You can:

• access the modules in your own time, and at your own pace
• choose the modules most relevant to your role
• track your progress as you go.

The eight modules cover:

• Regulation in New Zealand
• Regulatory compliance activities
• Regulatory systems and stewardship
• Professional conduct
• Engaging as a regulator
• Communicating with regulated parties
• Regulatory approaches, models and tools
• The law and judiciary. 

Collaboration 

RegRoom will host our communities of practice, where regulators can connect with others working in regulation in New Zealand. This section is currently under development.
